Our sweet Ben is still a happy-go-lucky guy and big sister McKenzie is still in love with 'baby'. She is so funny if I mention going somewhere she will usually add "baby go too."
Here's Ben's nine month picture - he's still only got the two teeth. Maybe Santa is delivering the others.
Here's McKenzie showing off her four teeth. Those top teeth look like they are huge in this picture but they have turned out really nice now that she has most of her teeth in.
Ben turned nine months yesterday and Daddy took him in for his nine month appointment. Ben's doing great, 19 lbs, 2 oz, 28 inches which I will note is a pound less than McKenzie and an 1 1/4 inches shorter but I have no doubt he'll catch up. The doctor asked Matt if he was crawling, cruising etc. Ben showed off his ability to stand and do pretty much a full squat unsupported. Then the doctor asked if he was talking and Matt said, "He's practically walking." Enough said! I've just come to accept that our kids are late talkers. Though with Ben he really only makes two noises "ba-ba-ba-baaaah" and then really high pitched screams like a little girl who's big brother took her candy. The funny thing is he's usually not too upset when screaming like this, he just seems to think it's normal and even a bit funny.
McKenzie on the other hand is continuing to add to her verbal skills daily but sometimes she gets quite upset if others talk too much. Last week Gina and I took Kenzie and Atticus to the Indoor Playground in Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion. They have this amazing room for little kids filled with plastic toys and a ball pit . Really a great thing in our rainy State. Anyway, back to the point Gina and I were talking away, enjoying some mom conversation time while the kids played. Towards the end of the hour and a half that we were there McKenzie just looked at us and waved her little hand and shouted, "No talkie, no talkie." Quite funny coming from this tiny little girl, but needless to say it didn't stop us from continuing our conversation.
It's been pretty rainy here so we've been enjoying some family time just having fun playing around the house. Each day gets a little better with Ben being able to join in on McKenzie's fun.
Here they are enjoying Sunday morning in their PJ's watching cartoons. There will be many more days like this I think. Or maybe not just like that since they are touching and actually like each other.
On Saturday Grandma C was in town and came over for a visit with the kids. Here's Grandma C with Ben. She was trying hard to build a marble maze for Kenzie but unfortunately Ben was trying harder to help her take it apart.
McKenzie is definitely a Daddy's girl at heart - she just loves hanging out with Daddy!
McKenzie is also getting really into tea parties. She'll make tea for anyone who will sit still long enough to enjoy it, especially the dogs! Ben just attended his first tea party on Monday and seemed to enjoy it very much, even though the food choices seem to be a little lacking in my opinion.
This week the kids got to go to Jump Planet with Aunt Kacey and I met them after work. McKenzie can now go on all the bounce toys by herself having just a great time. Ben is taking notes and making plans for when he's a little more mobile.
Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Halloween in case I don't post again before then!

great blog, Colleen! This is such a neat way for me to watch your children grow. Ben is adorable...and McKenzie is a doll...love the bangs (great haircut choice!)
I had such a good visit with your Mom and her 3 sisters...looking forward to their next holiday here.
Can't wait for another trip to the MLT playground!
