Labor of Love

The title really should be Loving Labor Day but since my blog is slipping further and further away from the present moment I will keeping trying to catch up because to me this blog is a labor of love.  I enjoy documenting all the adventures of our family and capturing all these little moments that would be gone if I left it up to only my memory to retain.

For Labor Day weekend we headed out to Uncle Ron and Aunt Bev's cabin by Rimrock Lake that we had visited in June.  This time we were joined by Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Chris, Claire, Aunt Annie and her boyfriend Rich. We had quite a time finding places for everyone to sleep after some very active wildlife drove those who were enjoying the great outdoors back inside.

The kids loved playing down at the lake and in general just being together.  Trying to get three kids to smile at the same time for a picture is no easy task.  No amount of coaxing could get them to stand still or at least do the same silly thing at the same time.

Another attempt to capture these three - something other than the camera had their attention.

Exploring down by the lake.  Notice Ben has a coat but no pants on, that boy has his priorities straight.  Gotta keep warm but still be able to wade in the lake.

Ben trying out his new running shoes.  He thinks they make him faster but in reality he's just fast to begin with.

Kenzie waving from a spot as king of the mountain!

Beautiful shot of Claire on the hillside behind the cabin.

The drive home through Mt. Rainer National Forest was amazing.  The views of Mt. Rainer made the long drive worth it.  Rare shots of Matt and me when we got out of the car while the kids were sleeping.
