Grandpa Z's 60th Birthday, Garage Sales, and Growing Up!!!

Today was Grandpa Zaremba's (or 'G-Pa' as he'd like to be called) 60th birthday! The whole Zaremba family went to dinner to celebrate. We went to a family favorite, Nana Carmella's in Monroe, at the old Monroe Golf Course. It's got a great atmosphere and even better food - huge portions of great Italian cooking. This was McKenzie's first visit and she enjoyed herself very much - she ate bread sticks and played peek-a-boo with another baby at the next table. Here's the family at dinner and McKenzie with a huge bread stick.

This morning McKenzie joined me for her first ever Mill Creek Garage sale. The residents of Mill Creek are only allowed to have garage sales twice a year - the first weekend in May and the first weekend in October - so it's quite the event around here. I try to go every year if I can - so far I've gotten some great deals. Today we were joined by Kristy and a friend from wine club, Melissa who is 8 months pregnant. McKenzie and I were on a hunt for plastic yard toys and we did good! We got a small slide for $3 and then a bonus item of a Sit-n-Spin for $4. Where else can you get a morning of entertainment for $7? McKenzie has been enjoying the new toy! Anything that plays music is a huge hit with her.

Growing up!!! When we got back from the garage sale we were playing upstairs and McKenzie was standing up not holding onto anything as she's been doing lately when she actually put out her foot and took a step and then fell down. Then she did it again - just one step. Matt heard me cheering about it and came upstairs in time to see her get up again and take 4 steps before sitting down. Since then she's been walking around going further and further distances before sitting down! What a great day to start walking - Grandpa's Birthday! She started crawling on Ground Hogs day so it took three months from crawling to walking.

"Grandpa Z's 60th Birthday"

Yikes! That's ME! Sounds pretty scary when you put it that way; Grandpa Z is MY father's name, and I can't really be 60 can I? I still think of myself as 16 (well, maybe 17) BUT NOT 60 ! :-( ! :-( !

Good work Colleen, as usual :-)
Love Your Blog ! (of course)
