Totally Tubular

Two years ago for Christmas Auntie Anne gave us gift certificates for sledding at Snoqualmie Pass and last year winter passed us by and we didn't make it up but this year I was determined not to miss out on the fun.  We headed up to Snoqualmie Pass at the end of a very foggy week down in the lowlands.  The fog was unbelievable and hardly seemed to let up throughout the day.  I worried that it would be overcast up at the mountain but we headed up anyway and were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful sunny day waiting for us to come sledding.

Waiting for our session to start, enjoying the sunshine

The sledding was fantastic, they had 12 groomed lanes you could tube down and their are ticketed sessions throughout the day so it was full but never had more than a few minutes wait between runs.  There is a rope tow that you can hook your tube onto that pull you back up the hill.  The kids loved that and wanted to ride every time   Matt and I preferred to walk but we let the kids ride up a couple of times while we walked near them.  Kids five and under can ride double with you so both kids just rode with us.  Matt and Ben perfected the double ride with Matt laying down first and then Ben running and jumping on top and hanging on as they flew down the hill.  I wish I had gotten a picture of them it was quite a site.  McKenzie and I preferred to sit on the tube with her on my lap.

We will definitely be up to the mountain again - we have caught the snow bug!  We are even thinking of braving the ski slopes but we may have to do sledding a few more times first.
